Google's unhealthy Dominance will End

DNJournal releases weekly Domain Name Sales Report - April 29th

The new weekly domain sales report is out. Rick Latona sold MeetPeople.com for six figures to claim the #1 spot on our latest Top 20 chart. SearchEngines.com came close to hitting six figures as well and settled into the #2 slot. The all extension leader board had a pair of ccTLDs, a .net, a .org and a .mobi scattered in among the 15 .coms.

.ME Domain Sunrise and Landrush applications with EuroDNS

InDepth As of today .ME domains are open for registration. You can participate to the sunrise with any trademark that has been registered or applied for prior to the 28th June 2006. You can also start submitting your .ME domain for the Landrush period, which will officially start on the 6th June. The Sunrise applications can be sent from now till the 20th May (price: 175€/year, minimum 5 years) The Landrush applications can be sent from now till the 26th June (price: 48€/year, minimum 2 years) The registry has created a list of names which are not possible to submit: the Premium names (http://www.domen.me/cms/site_files/dotME_Premium_Names.txt) and the reserved names (http://www.domen.me/cms/site_files/dotME_Reserved_Names.txt). All other names can be submitted and domains that get more than one application will go into auction process. All names that only get one application will be automatically assigned to the applicant.

Important! .Asia auctions extended

Realizing that April 28th to May 5th was Japan’s golden week and May 1st to May 7th was China’s golden week, the .Asia Organization wants to be considerate of these holiday’s. To provide all auction participants with an equal opportunity, the auction period has therefore been extended by the Registry for all auctions that were scheduled to close between April 28th and May 2nd by two weeks. For example, if your auction was originally scheduled to close on April 28th it will now be scheduled to close on May 12th. In addition, the start date has been extended by 2 weeks for all auctions that were originally scheduled to start between April 28th and May 2nd. These auctions will now be scheduled to start between May 12th and May 16th and will close between May 19th and May 22nd.
